Niceville is now back on my list of places to consider living in (again). I hope one day to return to the community and continue to find different ways of continuing to contribute back to the community, and now I feel safe enough that I won't be harassed for my disability or disability aides.
Recently found this place after living here for a year. Great boardwalk for walking and enjoying nature. The best thing is the spring fed creek which has a swift current of pristine cool spring water to kayak or tube down the creek. Swimming in this creek is so refreshing and thereaputic. My body feels good for several days after taking a dip. I consider this as a highly recommended place to go.
Thank You for turning the parks back into what Niceville is supposed to be all about, Nice folks!
Until today. With fear and trepidation I slowly checked the parts out, seeing if HE was there. Never saw him.
It is a beautiful, quiet gem of a park that is nice to visit any time of the year. A raised boardwalk allows visitors to experience and appreciate the Bald Cypress/Atlantic White Cedar swamp from above and access the cool waters of Turkey Creek. It is especially nice to visit in the summertime as the waters are cool and swift, and act like a natural lazy river. Lots of fun!
I just want to be able to take a quite stroll through the board walk, but I can't function without my S.D. in public. I know feel much better that the City has taken steps to resolve this matter.
Eventually got out and spoke with one of the employees. It seems they be since better educated their staff on Service Dogs and A.D.A. rights.
Approximately a year ago I had an incident with one of the Security Guards And my Service Dog. I haven't stepped foot back in that City since.
I walk here about every other month or so and it's very peaceful and quiet! Such a great place to go to get away from the "city" life to walk and take in fresh air!
Great place to walk, swim, canoeing tube. The area has rear rooms and is patrolled for security. IT IS ALL FREE.
(If you have a therapy or emotional support dog/animal the law does not protect the animal the same as a service dog).
I got a really good feeling again. Made me feel like All my time vested with the City and Community to make it a better place, and the sacrifice It took on me, it's nice to know I can come back in peace.
