They are super accommodating and friendly. Kids get free firefighter hats each time which my kids love. The subs are great and the sweet tea is good too. I order a veggie sub with no cheese and it is delicious every time. The staff goes out of their way to give us a great dining experience. It's cute there too with the firehouse theme. Don't skip the hot sauce. It's not super hot but really tasty.
I worked here and Mary yelled at and told people they would be fired on a daily basis. She had pulled me from making sandwiches in the middle of a rush so we could stand directly in customer view while she yelled at me about another employee, saying "convince me to keep him because I want him gone." Right where everyone, customers and employees, could hear.
When there was a complaint about hair in food, instead of making everyone wear hairnets they're all just supposed to wear visors because 'she doesn't like hairnets'. There were two complains about hair on one day and that was the solution.
She has called customers b*tches, *ssholes, etc. I don't think one catering order has been done without her cussing about it. She shorts you meat on catering orders. Where you're supposed to get 4 oz of meat on a sandwich, she'll cut it to 3.5 to 3.2 to save her and Ken money. Ken has personally approved of these tactics.
I went to Firehouse Subs tonight.. I wanted a French dip but they don't have those so they made me a roast beef with nothing on it and they gave me some beef broth..... I got it home and opened the container that had the broth and there was hardly any in there..... The container was Minnie enroll than an inch in depth.. So I called them because I was unhappy and I explained to the manager the situation.. I explained about the broth but she kept saying we don't have French dip.. But that is not what I was complaining about.. It was the broth.... So she clearly was not listening to me so I asked for the owners phone number and she ignored me, so I asked a 2nd time then she started saying they don't have a French dip and I asked for the owners number again.. She got attitude again and hung up on me..... My wife ordered the hook and ladder sandwich and they even forgot to put cheese on her sandwhich. I just can't believe I was hung up on because I wanted to call the owner and the fact that she was not listening to me.... I just can't believe I was treated like this.... An apology would of been nice.... Or anything.... She wasn't even listening to me.... How can you give someone so little broth.. After all she knew I was going to use it to dip my sandwich into. I just cannot believe it.. I have never been treated like this in my life.
She hates customers. When she's on the phone hearing things she doesn't want to hear she just yells "STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP", cuts people off, makes them feel bad. I had multiple complaints from customers about her attitude, specifically about how she treats her employees.
This place is run by two people right now, Mary the store manager and Ken the franchise owner. Both do not care about anyone or anything, all that matters is money.
Subs here are always delicious. Also, The general manager went out of her way to get me a pickle bucket so we could brine our Thanksgiving turkey. That kind of customer service is unheard of around here! Thank you!
I was fired for trying to get in touch with Human Resources to tell them all of this. She fired or ran off eight people in a 30 day period for similar reasons. When I did talk to HR I was already fired, they didn't care and the HR department reports to Ken the franchise owner. Since Ken likes the money Mary brings in, he never got in touch with me again when I tried to tell him all of this. So I'm left leaving reviews wherever I can to tell about these poor business practices.
I would never go back here again I just found hair in my food. Disgusting.
